Dr. Gigi Spina  is born in Salerno Italy. He started his career as Professor of Classical Philology at the Federico II University of Naples and he collaborated with several universities, including the University of Calabria, the University of Siena and the University of Strasbourg, where he held the Chaire Gutenberg in 2009 and worked in collaboration with the French rhetoric scholar. In 2012 he was awarded the Praemium Classicum Clavarense for scientific merits in the field of the study of the classical world. He is secretary of the Anthropology and Ancient World Association and member of the Anthropology Center of the Ancient World (University of Siena)
