In Italian folklore, La Befana is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve (the night of January 5) in a similar way to St. Nicholas or Santa Claus. A popular belief is that her name derives from the Feast of the Epiphany or in Italian La Festa dell’Epifania. Michelle Longega Wilson, an 11 year old  Amazon bestselling author, will talk about the stories, history and magic of La Befana. Befana Poem Contest.  Every child is invited to recite a Befana poem in English or Italian. Come prepared to either read your poem or recite it from memory.  The winner receives the Magical Befana Hat!
