Happy Holidays!

Dear members and friends of The Leonardo da Vinci Society,
I would like to take this upcoming Holidays season  opportunity to thank you for your support and your patronage in a great and beautiful 2018 and for the older members in 4 years of friendship and support. Our illustrious Society, the only one with this name in the US, was founded in 1949 and became a non profit in 1951; we will be celebrating our 60 years in 2019 as well as the 500 Anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.
The Leonardo 500 celebrations have  started on October 27 with a wonderful lecture by prof Carlo Vecce at Museo ItaloAmericano and on November 16 with a second lecture by Massimo Paltrinieri at the Italian Cultural Institute. Both programs were very well attended and they gave us strength and motivation to continue on this path.
Consul General of Italy, Lorenzo Ortona, and The Italian Cultural Institute are collaborating to make 2019 a great Leonardo 500 year.
A very close Institution, Humanities West, has launched already a  two days program of events in honor of Leonardo on February 22 and 23 (http://humanitieswest.net) and I invite all of you to attend. We are negotiating a special price for you all. Stay tuned. Our main event will be a gala dinner party with lots of surprises on April first week end at the Century Club where we will be awarding, in collaboration with ISSNAF (https://www.issnaf.org/bay-area-chapter.html), three scholarships to three young scientists in honor of our genius father, Leonardo.  A full calendar of events will be sent to you in January.
Please try to attend as much as you can. Your presence and your comments on our activities are precious to us and guide us in the right direction. We have been going through some difficult time recently, but we have resurrected as stronger as ever and  we are ready to celebrate with you.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season, Viva Leonardo!

Amelia Antonucci, LdVS President
